I Am a Blacksmith
In today’s world of mass production, fast food, and high tech, I have chosen a profession that requires a slow, methodical approach.
I am a blacksmith.
My shop is filled with what most folks would consider as antiques, however they are everyday tools for me. Many of these tools I made myself using a coal fire, a hammer, and an anvil. With these tools, and many years of disciplined study and practice, I transform ordinary bars of steel into meaningful decorative and architectural items for the home, office, or landscape.
It has been a journey that has brought me and others fulfillment. The work will endure through time.
Most of the work I designed myself, oftentimes inspired by the natural world. I have learned much from the great master’s works, and I return the favor by teaching others this age old trade. It is a continuum of the trade….a lifelong tour of learning that keeps me continually searching for new forms into which I can shape the material.
However, there is one Great Master whose workmanship is awe inspiring. His mastery of design has no equal. His work will endure long after mine has been claimed by time and the elements. Much as I shape iron, His teachings have shaped my life.
His name….is Jesus Christ.
Before knowing Christ as my Savior, I was lost….shapeless as a raw bar of steel. Just as my hands and tools shape iron into meaningful objects, through His word, He uses me as a tool to share His love of mankind.
I wish to share this message with you, so that you too may know Him, and also so that you may be enlightened by His Word.
I am a believer.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son. That whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”….John 3:16

My fellow Brother in the Lord,
I was yet to fine an artisan, who would confess his faith publicly unto man. Standing in the gap is not always easy, but your reward will soon follow. Thank you for being an example!
You have been blessed with your skill’s, and I have been truly inspired by them. If the Lord wills I hope to meet you this side of heaven, and hopefully I get the opportunity to join all of your workshops.

Through our work, we glorify Him, who created all things. Psalm 19 reads, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament showeth his handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speach, and night unto night speaketh knowledge. There is no speach nor language where their voice is not heard….”
